Sudarshan — Manifestation has a mechanism

Sudarshan · behavioural coach · Bangalore  ·  1,000+ people coached

The life youkeep picturingis real.

You've imagined it a hundred times — the calm, the focus, the person you were meant to become. You were told to manifest it. Think it, feel it, wait. And still it never came. There was a piece they never gave you.

keep going
They sold you the lock.
Nobody gave you the key.

Manifestation isn't wrong. When you truly want something, your mind does start to notice it. That part is real.

But thinking alone is a locked door. Wanting and waiting opens nothing. You can picture the life for years and stay exactly where you are — and then blame yourself for not wanting it enough.

The lock is the wanting.
The key is what surrounds you.
The key was never your thoughts. It's your surroundings.

Two people. The same willpower. Different surroundings.

Here's the truth nobody sells, because it isn't magic and it can't be bottled: you don't rise to the life you want. You fall to the surroundings you're standing in. Watch the same morning, twice.

By default

The surroundings you fell into

  • The phone is the first thing your eyes meet. The day starts inside someone else's feed.
  • The dream is in your head, nowhere your eyes can land on it.
  • The easy thing to reach is the thing you're trying to quit.
  • Every good choice is a fight — and by evening you've no fight left.
"What is wrong with me?"
By design

The surroundings you built on purpose

  • The phone sleeps in another room. Your eyes open to the life, not the noise.
  • The dream is on the wall, where you meet it ten times a day.
  • The good thing is the easy thing — one reach away.
  • No fight is needed. The surroundings carry you when motivation is gone.
"Oh. It was never me."
You were never lazy.
You were standing in the wrong surroundings.

Change what's around you, and the person you've been trying to become simply walks in. That is manifestation with a mechanism. That is the whole of what I teach.

If a ten-year-old can't picture it, it isn't true enough yet. So — pictures.

On manifestation

Sitting on the sofa dreaming of biryani for two hours won't cook it. You have to get up and walk to the kitchen — or at least place the order. Wanting is not the same as doing.

On willpower

Willpower is a phone battery. Full at 7 in the morning, dead by 9 at night. That's why you start strong and fall apart after dinner — you're not weak, you're out of charge.

On surroundings

A morning walk in Lalbagh and an hour in Hebbal traffic put the same body in two different humans. You didn't change. Your surroundings did — and you followed.

On the 1%

One percent better each day isn't 365% in a year — it's thirty-seven times better. One percent worse, and you're near zero. Small surroundings, compounded, become a whole life. (James Clear.)

Why I'd stake my life on this

In 2011, I couldn't read a newspaper out loud.

I was a call-centre agent with a notebook full of dreams and a life that hadn't moved an inch. I called myself a thinker. It was just a nicer word for a man who blamed himself and never changed.

Then I stopped trying to fix me. I began designing what was around me — what I saw first, what was easy, what was hard. The behaviour followed. That man went on to coach over a thousand people and stand in front of rooms of eight hundred.

Not through motivation. Motivation is gone by evening. Through design.
